I’ve been loving writing my “My Favorite Things” posts for January and February! This month I’ve been focusing a lot on self care and self improvement – so for my March Favorite Things I decided to make it all about self care! Here are my absolute favorite things for pampering myself this month! (Hint – these make amazing early Mother’s Day Gifts for yourself)!
- Mix Bar Blackberry Tonic Perfume
O. M G. Talk about an impulse purchase! I saw a friend post about this on TikTok and before I knew it I had added it to my cart and had it delivered later the same day. It is light and fruity and for the price you really can’t go wrong!
Side note! I’ve been shopping online forever now and earning cash back through Rakuten! It is SO easy to sign up for an account and earn money on almost all of your online purchases! They send you a check in the mail and you deposit it into your account! Easy peasy! Also, if you sign up through my referral link, once you spend $25 online, YOU earn $25 for free and so do I! It’s a no brainer!!
2. Eucalyptus Deodorant
Another impulse buy (that also happened to be on clearance – wooo!) – Mitchum Eucalyptus deodorant. It smells so good and it’s also aluminum free. I can’t speak to it’s effectiveness during the peak of summer but for regular everyday use in March it has been great. It looks like it’s not available on Amazon but this highly rated Native deodorant is very similar!
3. OGX Rose Water & Pink Sea Salt Body Wash
This body wash was a complete impulse buy when I was grocery shopping a few weeks ago and I absolutely LOVE it! The scent is sooooo good and so refreshing. It is literally perfect for spring!
4. Earth Therapeutics Nourishing Avocado Face Mask
I have been in love with these sheet face masks by Earth Therapeutics for a couple of years now. I have combination but very sensitive skin and these masks are heavenly. They don’t burn at all and you still end up feeling completely refreshed when you take it off! I buy them from Kohl’s because that’s where they end up being the best deal but they’re available on Amazon too!
5. Easy Bedtime Guided Meditations
I got into meditation a few years ago but definitely have not been consistent at all. I remember wanting to do it for a while but I honestly had no idea where to start. A friend recommended a guided meditation and they have been the easiest for me. I especially like this one because it’s a quick and easy one to do before bed and leaves me drifting off to sleep once it’s over. When I’m really focused I can definitely notice a difference in the quality of my sleep!
6. Dr. Teal’s Eucalyptus and Spearmint Body Wash
I am in love with the eucalyptus and spearmint combination from Bath and Body Works so I decided to give the Dr. Teal’s version a whirl. It’s definitely a little more potent and “man-ish” than the BBW version but it grows on you and I really enjoy it for the shower. It’s relaxing and not too overpowering that you smell it afterward.
7. Quit Like A Woman by Holly Whitaker
This book is a MUST READ even if you’re not concerned about your alcohol intake. Read that again. Holly offers so much insight and practicality about what it means to be a woman in our society that will leave you feeling empowered and confident. This book is a best seller and was recommended by Chrissy Teigan on Instagram for a reason! Buy it now and thank me later.
8. Shower Steamers
Have you heard of bath bombs and always wanted to try them but you never get a chance to take a bath because you’re a mom? SAME! I was so excited to discover shower steamers last fall and I finally tried them recently. You just toss it in the shower and as it gets wet it releases a soothing scent that lets you think you’re in a spa (if you close your eyes and ignore the sound – real or imaginary – of your children screaming).
9. Jergens Lavender Body Butter
I was on the search for a bedtime lotion that was relaxing and moisturizing and this Jergens Lavender Body Butter does not disappoint! It’s thick and moisturizing but not too overpowering. Perfect for drifting off to sleep while listening to a guided meditation!
10. Back Massager Muscle Roller
Need a deep tissue massage but can’t get to the spa? I got your back. Literally! This wooden back massager is heavenly after a stressful day of momming. It can be quite intense, so I recommend starting on a soft surface like a bed. I like to start by laying on it just under my neck at the top of my back, then every 2-3 minutes slide my back up an inch or two while maintaining pressure. It hurts so good it’s heavenly.
