I’ve spent the last umpteen years (I’m too embarrassed to give the actual number) in “comfy” clothes while staying home with my boys. I’ve tried more than my fair share of leggings, yoga pants and jeggings and comfy yet casual and cute tshirts and dresses. So here is an ongoing list of some of my favorite cute, comfortable and affordable basics available on Amazon!
First thing’s first, comfy undies, amiright? From pregnancy to postpartum and beyond, my “fancy” panties have not gotten near as much love as my comfortable, every day, all cotton basics. And with my unfortunate weight gain, I needed something that fit comfortably, allowed me to crawl all over the floor with my kids and stretch every which way when struggling to get them in their car seats. Enter Amazon Essentials cotton bikini underwear! They have larger sizes and they fit perfect. There are so many color options and they are so comfortable!
I am OBSESSED with my Lululemon vinyasa scarf for spring, fall and winter! It’s the perfect accessory for those slightly cooler days and doubles as a shawl with so many different ways to style it. Unfortunately, at that price point I can’t afford more than one, so I found this amazing alternative by Champion on Amazon. I love love love the color options too!
Leggingsand Jeans Another absolute staple in my closet: black leggings. Not just any black leggings. I’ve found that leggings with pockets are 1000% the way to go. Inevitably you will want your phone with you when out on a walk with your kid to take a picture of something OR (more likely) they will hand you random crap and ask you to carry it. Enter pocket leggings. There are so many different kinds on Amazon but here are a few of my faves.
These BALEAF leggings are amazing. They are thick so they are not see through when you’re bending over to pick up a tantrumming toddler and they have a nice high tummy panel to keep everything in place. For the price point they are an amazing find. They also have a capri version which is perfect for summer! The pocket for these is in the waistband. I also love these side pocket leggings for every day wear (as well as for working out). My iphone XS Max fits perfect in the side pocket (this is a big phone for those who aren’t familiar)! Both these leggings and the Baleaf leggings run pretty true to size.
As far as “jeans” go, these pull on jeans were a fast fave. Comfy, stretchy and flattering, they are a classic go to for comfort and also feeling like I have things a bit together.
Dresses These short sleeve maxi dresses are ridiculously versatile and so comfortable! These dresses can be dressed up or down, can be worn with a cardigan or jacket during the cooler months. I love wearing these longer dresses because I feel so dressed up with (very) minimal effort and the length and fabric allow me to move easily to play with my kids.
This one even HAS POCKETS!!! These are geared toward larger sizes as they start at a Large and go up to 4 XL. They come in pretty floral patterns and solid colors as well.
This dress comes in smaller sizes (small to XXL) and runs slightly small, so I recommend sizing up. This one sadly does not have pockets but it does have a flattering faux wrap waist and removable belt.
Tanks And Tees These shirts and tanks are affordable and super cute. The great thing about these tops are that they can be paired with jeans and a cardigan in cooler months or worn with shorts in the summer months.
These adorable cami’s come in so many different colors and designs! My most favorite part of this shirt is the adjustable straps! It’s so flattering for almost any body type too. Again they can be dressed up or down. I always feel a little more put together when I wear one.
These vneck tees by Amazon Essentials are some of my hands down absolute favorite basics. They are true to size, comfortable and cute. The two packs are budget friendly and come in a mix of solids and prints.
I adore these floral print and patterned short sleeve tops. They are casual and comfy yet make me feel slightly more dressed up than I actually am. They have some sleeveless versions too so be sure to check them out for summer!
I love love love this cute flowy racerback yoga tank! The flowy front hangs down and covers my belly, and when combined with the high waisted leggings above keeps everything in place!
And finally, a slightly cheaper flowy racerback tank option is this tank by Bella Canvas. I love it for working out and just hanging around the house or doing yard work.
Long Sleeves, Sweaters, and Sweatshirts Here are some of my favorite long sleeve shirts and sweaters for cooler weather!
This is one of my favorite long sleeve staples in my closet. It is long which is fantastic if you are taller or have a long torso and it is flowy in the front to hide anything you don’t want showing!
This lightweight cardigan is soft and stretchy and goes perfect over some of the tanks/camis listed above! There are so many different colors to choose from. Size up if you prefer a looser fit.
There’s something about animal print that makes me feel a little more put together! These shirts come in so many different patterns/prints and come in both long sleeve and short sleeve options!
The decorative buttons on these heathered long sleeve shirts also add a feel of dress up to a basic and comfortable shirt.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, add a floral print or fun pattern to a basic shirt and you will instantly feel dressed up! These floral and patterned lightweight hoodies are a staple for sure! And they are SO soft!
And finally these heathered twist front long sleeve shirts add a little bit of flair to any outfit! These do run a little small in my opinion so you’re going to want to size up!
